About muskogeeNOW.com
muskogeeNOW.com is a news site designed to do one thing: get you the news you care about as quickly and efficiently as possible.
A lot of news sites miss the mark, in our opinion. Big media companies think they can just take the old media way of doing things and regurgitate the results online and everything will be hunky dory. But the world has changed and passed them by. The average Internet reader is someone at work with five minutes between finishing a task and beginning the next one. That five minutes is where we fit in. We want to fill that five minutes with informative, yet short, stories about things going on around you — and in lieu of that, at least interesting stories that make you go, "hmmm."
We are usually first to the scene of any breaking news, and we'll update with the details as they happen. If you want in-depth stories, you can wait 24 hours and read the newspaper. But if you want to know what's going on right now, you're in the right place.
Who are we?
muskogeeNOW.com is part of a family of sites owned by
Left Right Communications in Muskogee. Each NOW site is independently run by a person or group in the community they represent. Each NOW site maintains editorial control over the content of the site, and is responsible for that content. Though the sites share content at times, they do so through agreement and maintain local editorial control. If you have any questions, you can contact us at
this page.
Is this a blog?
The short answer is
no. A blog is a personal online diary. A "web log," which is where the name comes from. muskogeeNOW.com is an
online-only newspaper. It is run and reported by professional journalists. The company's founder, Leif M. Wright, was a reporter and editor at professional newspapers for more than 20 years before he formed this company, and the people running each of the NOW family of sites were professional journalists before they came here, too.
